Tongue Sole Fish

Tongue sole is a type of flatfish from the family Cynoglossidae, known for its mild, delicate, slightly sweet flesh, minimal fishy smell, and silky texture, making it popular in Asian and global cuisine for sushi, stir-fries, or simple pan-frying, and is rich in protein and omega-3s. These teardrop-shaped fish have both eyes on their left side and live on muddy or sandy bottoms in warm coastal waters, with species found globally, some even thriving near hydrothermal vents.
